Reflexology in Ipswich and Suffolk
Reflexology is a therapy which activates the healing powers of the body by stimulating reflex points on the feet. It is an ancient practice, used by early Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Egyptian cultures but which was also developed into the modern scientific method which we know as Reflexology by Dr William Fitzgerald, Dr Joseph Shelby Riley and Eunice Ingham in America in the early years of the 20th Century.
What connects the ancient and the modern is the long established principle that there are energy zones that run throughout the body and reflex areas in the feet that correspond to all the major organs, glands and body parts and if these points are stimulated, they affect the connected organ or part of the body.
Reflexology has many benefits, some of which are:
Reduces stress and induces deep relaxation, therefore helping with anxiety, depression and insomnia
Cleanses the body of toxins and impurities
Balances the whole system
Stimulates creativity and productivity
Along with all this, of course, is that it can help with any physical ailment such as insomnia, menopause problems, digestive problems, arthritis, migraines and many, many more. It can also help couples to naturally conceive a baby.
During a treatment, the feet are first cleansed and natural bees-wax balm applied. The feet are stimulated and massaged on the pressure points to cover the whole body.
The pressure can be firm or lighter, depending on which part of the feet are being stimulated and how sensitive the client is.
The treatment is highly relaxing and enjoyable and many people drift off to sleep.
The treatment will be around 45 minutes.
