Facial Reflexology (Bergman Method) in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Facial Reflexology is a wonderful treatment which along with the same therapeutic effects of traditional foot Reflexology, also offers one brilliant side effect: younger looking, healthier and radiant skin.

Facial Reflexology focuses on reflex points on the face. When pressed and stimulated gently, these promote the body's own healing mechanisms, benefiting the whole body but also helping to improve circulation and nerve conduction which encourages the release of toxins from the face and body by the lymphatic system.

The Bergman Method of facial reflexology was developed by Ziggie Bergman, who over 20 years worked with therapists around the world and it is based on Zone Therapy, which forms the basis for modern Reflexology. Along with other ancient cultures, Native American healers had this knowledge and used these pressure points on the face to heal the mind and body. Ziggie lived and studied with these healers and shamans who taught her these techniques. Through her very through training, I am pleased to offer this wonderful therapy to you.

I have also been trained by Ziggie in the art of facial cupping. Some people will have heard of this therapy which is usually used on the body and can be rather painful and result in the well known bruises as pictured on Gwyneth Paltrow some years ago. I am pleased to say that Facial Cupping is much more gentle! Facial oils are massaged into the skin and various sized silicone cups are placed on the face, causing a vacuum. The skin is squeezed up into the vacuum and this encourages blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. The cups are only left on the skin for 1 to 3 seconds. They are then slid off the face. It is completely painless and many people enjoy the sensation. The skin and complexion instantly looks a better colour and with continued use, fine lines, double chins and jowls can be improved. Facial Cupping is added to Facial Reflexology to complement the treatment.

Facial Reflexology can be conducted fully clothed or with your top removed if it has a high neckline, so that I can easily access this area. A towel is placed over your chest area. A beautiful blend of essential oils is used on the face which adds to the enjoyment of this treatment. The treatment is very gentle but very powerful in its effects. Being in such close approximation to the brain and head it is especially good for conditions involving these areas, eg migraines, headaches, bruxism (jaw grinding), insomnia, depression, anxiety and other emotional or mental conditions.

The treatment will be around 45 minutes long.
