Reiki Healing in Ipswich and Suffolk
"As running water smoothes the jagged edges of a rock until it is smooth enough to roll away, Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself".
Reiki, (pronounced ray key) means "universal life force energy" in Japanese. It is a form of natural healing founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, life experience and dedication.
As even scientists now agree, we live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows healthily and uninterrupted within and around us, we are healthy in mind, body and spirit and experience wellbeing. When it does not flow in balance and harmony, ill health and dis-ease can develop.
There are many variations of Reiki but in essence they all help the body physically, emotionally or mentally. It is not a religion and is open to any belief system or none. It can be used alongside conventional or complementary medicine. The practice has four levels, Reiki I, which is normally for personal use, Reiki II, for using on others and distant healing, Advanced Reiki and Master. The practice can only be taught by Reiki Masters to the student. Every Reiki Master can trace their lineage back to Dr Mikao Usui.
The energy is not coming from the practitioner but through them, as a channel for the life force energy some may call God, Creator, Universe, Allah, Chi, Qi, Prana, etc. It's all the same thing!
The treatment is simple. The recipient remains fully clothed (with maybe shoes and spectacles removed for comfort) and lies on a couch or seated on a chair if it is more comfortable. The practitioner places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on, or if preferred, near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The Reiki energy flows through clothes and goes where it needs to go.
Every person experiences Reiki differently. Some people feel sensations of heat or tingling, or experience seeing colours. Others have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing balance and harmony to be restored. Some may feel nothing, but this does not mean that nothing has happened!
Reiki can be used for all physical and emotional problems. It is very relaxing and comforting. It can help with short term illness but also with those suffering from long standing conditions, by helping to relieve pain, bring comfort and a more positive outlook. When we are relaxed and stress-free, we are able to restore our natural ability to heal.
It can be used on children and animals who usually love it, although it would be a shorter treatment. It is also a beautiful therapy at the end of life, helping to promote a sense of peace and acceptance for the dying and their families.
There are no contra-indications for having Reiki .
The treatment would be around 45 minutes.
There are five principles of Reiki which can help us all.
1. Just for today, I will not get angry.
2. Just for today, I will not worry.
3. Just for today, I will be grateful.
4. Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
5. Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
Great principles to live our lives by!
Energy Facilitating Healing in Ipswich and Suffolk
"Energy is all there is" - Albert Einstein
Energy healing is practiced in the same way as Reiki. The client lies down on a couch or sits in a chair while the therapist moves their hands near the body. If agreed, the hands may touch the body in certain places at times.
Energy healing is the same as "spiritual" healing. I prefer to use the word Energy, as to my mind, that is what we are dealing with, also a lot of people are confused by the word "spiritual" as explained below;
People are put off by the following misconceptions: Spiritual is not the same as a religion and you don't have to be religious to receive it. Spiritual Healing is not Faith Healing practiced by some religions where you have to believe in it to work. You do not have to believe that it works, as is proved by the positive results that have been found with children and animals who have no belief systems. It has nothing to do with Spiritualism which is a type of religion and it has nothing to do with spirits or ghosts!
The second word I have rather a problem with is "healing". In most people's minds, "healing" means curing the dis-ease or getting better but this is not necessarily the case. You can be healed in many ways, mind body and soul but still have the physical symptoms. There are many, many reasons for this and too much for me to go into here. Suffice it to say, that a "healing" treatment will be of a positive benefit to you, it may just not be the one you came for!
Any "healing" does not come from the person doing the healing. The practitioner simply facilitates the body's natural ability to heal itself. We all have the innate ability to heal ourselves and to learn to help others to heal. Think back to when you were ill or had hurt yourself as a child and your mother would rub or touch the area that hurt, that's natural healing energy! Paraphrasing the master healer, Jesus, we can all do it!
Long after my Reiki attunements I felt the need to explore more aspects of healing and I took the year long course with The Healing Trust (previously known as the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, the largest group of healers in the UK). This gave me even more grounding and knowledge about healing.
I am also a certified practioner of Theta Healing, another form of energy work.
There are many, many forms of "healing" but they do all come down to the same thing. Intention and the channeling of spiritual, universal, healing and compassion, or in other words Love.
The treatment would again, as in Reiki be carried out with the client fully clothed, either lying on a couch or sitting in a chair. I would place my hands on various parts of your body or just above them. Again, it would be a beautiful, relaxing treatment and is suitable for all physical, mental and emotional problems.
The treatment would be around 45 minutes.
